IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alfred A
Waz
December 26, 1934 – March 17, 2021
A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend, Alfred A. Waz, passed away at Elderwood Health Care at Cheektowaga, New York, at the age of 86.
Alfred in his younger years enjoyed Running and X-Country Skiing and served in the US Army. After the service, he started out and worked for 25 years at the Blaw - Knox company where he worked in the burns division which made roasting equipment for coffee beans, working his way up to Shop Manager. Then moving on to advance his career to Gemcor, Inc, then Hebeler Welding, and then going over to GE to work on the Trolly Car Refurbishing project, till 1989 at the age of 55, when he left manufacturing and got his real estate license and went to work as an agent at Hunt Real Estate for 21 years.
He followed the Sabres and played Golf and even taught his grandchildren how to play the game. He was a Jack-of-all-Trades and helped out wherever and whenever he could, but he always put his family first, always being available to babysit the grandchildren at a moment's notice.
He was married for over 64 years to his Best Friend, Soulmate, and Love of His Life, his beloved wife Agnes (nee Olszowka) Waz.
A devoted father of Allison (Timothy) Friedly, loving grandfather of Ashley (William) Paddock and Andrew (Dominique) Friedly, and fond great-grandfather of Benjamin Paddock.
The dearest son of the late Helen Margaret (nee Stelmach) and late Edward Henry Waz; dearest brother of late Edward (late Theresa) Waz, late James (Dianne) Waz, and the late Joan Waz and brother-in-law of Barbara (Fabian) Jasinski and the late Frank (Kathleen) Olszowka.
Al was also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
