IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alfred "Freddie"
Wozniak
April 15, 1930 – June 6, 2022
An office worker for over 57 years, at Chudy Paper Company, a supplier to the Facility Solutions Industry, Alfred R. "Freddie" Wozniak, passed away at Kenmore Mercy Hospital, in Tonawanda, New York, at the age of 92.
Alfred served as a Corporal in the US Army Military Police Company, during the Korean War. He was also a recipient of the Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars, the National Service Medal, and the Merit Unit Emblem.
His favorite pastimes included gardening, making Sausage and Placek, and a good old card game with friends, at the kitchen table. When either at home or at any other family event, he was always playing the "Hospitable Host" making sure that everyone in attendance had enough, if not over an abundance to eat. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandson, making sure that they learned everything that there was to know about their family and those that had gone before them, as he was the ultimate unofficial family historian that everyone went to find out any information about anything.
Besides being active in his younger years in the St. Josaphat parish activities and school parent-teacher organizations he was also a former member of several civic organizations such as the William Street Taxpayers Association.
He was the beloved husband of over 64 years to his soul-mate, the late Regina F. "Reggie" (nee Zwara) Wozniak, who predeceased him on November 30th, 2017.
Alfred was the devoted father of Celeste (Richard) Jakubowski, Paul (Cheri) Wozniak, and the late Baby Jimmy Wozniak.
The loving grandfather of Heather Thurman, Kathryn Jakubowski, Danielle Wozniak, Paul "PJ" Wozniak, and Nicole Wozniak, and fond great-grandfather of Benjamin Michael Thurman.
Born on Tuesday, April 15, 1930, the cherished son of the late Veronica (nee Semski) Wozniak and late Walter Wozniak, he was also the dearest brother of the late William (late Stella and late Viola) Wozniak, late Stella Wozniak, late Edward (late Irene) Wozniak, late Henry (late Cecelia) Wozniak, late Chester (late Irene) Wozniak, late Irene Sala and the late Leonard (Suzanne) Wozniak. He was also a special uncle to his niece, Diane DiPalma, who helped care for him, as well as several other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will be present on Friday, June 10, 2022, from 2-8 at the PIETSZAK FUNERAL HOME, 2400 William St. (near Harlem) where services will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at 10 AM, and at St. Josaphat Parish, located at William at Peoria, at 10:30 AM.
Entombment with Military Honors will follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, in Cheektowaga, New York.
