She devoted a significant part of her career as a waitress at Ray’s Restaurant in Buffalo, NY, where she was treasured for her welcoming spirit and genuine care for patrons and colleagues alike. Ann Marie’s presence was a beacon of warmth and familiarity in a bustling environment, reflecting her natural ability to connect with others. She cherished her work family and carried those friendships right up until she passed away.

Ann Marie was the beloved wife of the late John Green and the loving companion of the late Robert Fischer. She was a devoted mother of John Green, Jim (Laurie) Green, and her late son Gregory Hines. Her nurturing nature extended beyond her children to her grandchildren, Steven (Mary) Green, Kevin (Tracey) Green. She was a fond great-grandmother to James, Nya, Kiara, Mariah, Veronica, Trent, and Jacob, carrying forward her legacy through generations. Ann Marie was the dearest godmother of Mary Ann (Lamont Hicks) Bonner-Hicks and best friend to Anne Kruger.

Family was central to Ann Marie’s life, and she was also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins who remain grateful for her presence and influence. She was a cherished daughter of the late Edmund and Sara Stone (née Stophlet), whose memories she honored throughout her life.

The family will gather to celebrate Ann Marie’s life on Tuesday, April 7th 2026, from 10 AM to Noon at the Pietszak Funeral Home, 2400 William Street Cheektowaga, NY 14206. A funeral service will follow immediately at noon.
