IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anne L.
Mcguire
November 30, 1928 – February 1, 2019
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, an independent and resourceful person, the former Anne L. Maslowski, passed away at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital on Friday afternoon February 1 st at the age of 90.
She was a sweet and caring person that worried more about everyone else than herself. She always told everyone she met to "Have a nice day". Anne was a simple and frugal person who always tried not to waste anything. She could fix anything using her own methods and would do it herself rarely asking for help if she could do it herself.
Anne was a great cook. She didn't like to eat out, mainly because restaurant food never measured up to hers (except for the Chicken Soup at Wiechec's). Whenever you would stop by to visit she always assumed you were hungry and would rattle off a dozen things she could fix for you to eat. And even if you weren't hungry she would ask multiple times and then look disappointed and sad if you just weren't hungry. If you said you just ate, she would rattle off a half dozen sweets you should try for dessert.
Her cooking wasn't just noticed by her family, many people offered to pay her if she would bake for them. She even won a contest for the "Best Apple Pie" in the town of Cheektowaga. She made the best pastry, was a good seamstress and liked to crochet and knit.
Her gentleness, hard work ethic and her treatment of everyone she met made her a good role model for her children.
Anne was a beloved wife of 35 years to the late James G. McGuire. Daughter of the late Anthony and Margaret (Ligmanowski) Maslowski. Devoted mother to Karen (Ron) Strozyk, James (Cathy) McGuire, David McGuire and the late Diane (late Carl) Grassl.
Grandmother of Sheila, Paula (Tim) Spoly, Carl Grassl, Scott (Shana), Brian (Sue) Strozyk, Michelle (Dan) Derenda, Jason (Lorenne), Eric (April) Mcguire, Jennie (Brendan) Reen, Meghan (Tom), Tim (Marie), Kate, John McGuire, Heather (Eric) Powell.
Great-grandmother of Micah, Mariah, Kirsten, Dylan, Dakota, Issac McGuire. Emily, Nathan, Elana, Alyson Reen. Andrew (Kaylee) Mathew, Hannah, Benjamin, Jonathan, Stephen Strozyk. Dominic, Mia Derenda. Eli, Amira Powell. Corporal William, Tiffani Durow, late Robert C. Durow.
Great-great-grandmother of Braela and Malachi Strozyk.
Dearest sister of Ceil (late Silver) Case, late Regina (late Edward) Fuchs, late Ursula (late Edward) Bogdan, and the late Joseph (Lorraine) Maslowski.
Also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will be present for visitation on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the PIETSZAK FUNERAL HOME, 2400 William St. (near Harlem).
