Obituary

A retired Project Manager at Bethlehem Steel, Anthony J. Lesakowski, passed away at 74. Over his lifetime, Anthony also worked at Graphic Controls, Buffalo Forge, as a contract worker at Chevy, and most recently at Moore Business Forms Co.

In his younger years, Tony was a Sargeant in the Air Force serving as a Corrosion Control Specialist. He was a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campagne Medal, and an Air Force Outstanding Unit Award.

He was known as the continuous Student, always studying for something, and completed his school years when he received his Master's Degree which would explain his love of reading. He was also an avid walker and loved to study herbs, and was very holistic-minded.

He also loved to interact with anyone that would take the time to get to know him. As his niece, Alison spoke after her uncle's passing on, about how they were able to connect on a deeply spiritual level. "He was one that would allow you to openly share with him and you felt safe in sharing many things about yourself that you didn't normally openly allow others to know about yourself." When together he always insisted on Reiki to help promote relaxation and reduce stress and it promoted the acknowledgment of the beauty of their spiritual connection in this life. He was also one that was concerned with his karma and throughout his life accomplished spiritually oh so much.

In his later years, Tony found Dance. It started out as rehabilitation for the illnesses that he was dealt with throughout his lifetime and became a driving passion that he enjoyed till the end of his life.

Anthony was predeceased by his wife, the late Geraldine "Gerry" (nee Zielinski) Lesakowski.

He was the oldest son of the late Edwina (nee Hoffman) Lesakowski and late Zigmund Lesakowski.

The loving brother of Michael (late Evelyn) Lesakowski, Albert (Nancy) Lesakowski, and Stanley (Sharon) Lesakowski and dearest brother-in-law of John, Jr. (Patricia) Zielinski and also left several cherished nieces and nephews.

He was also survived by his special dance partner, Iliana Kaneva.

The family will be present to receive friends on Monday, May 16, 2022, from 3 to 7 PM at the Pietszak Funeral Home, 2400 William Street (near Harlem Road.)
