IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Candace "Candy"
Casey-Wnek
June 26, 1959 – November 12, 2021
A Senior Surety Client Account Manager with over 30 years collectively at Lawley, First Niagara, and USI, Candace Casey-Wnek, passed away suddenly at the age of 62.
Born in Dorchester, Massachusetts, and at an early age moved with her family to Lockport, New York, where she graduated from Lockport High School. After graduation, Candace started her military career in the Marine Corps. She then moved to California where she worked in the Aerospace Industry, doing computer work with the guidance systems on tanks. After a while, moving to Gowanda, to work at a substance abuse clinic, where she could share her experience of strength and hope, throughout her over 30 years of sobriety.
Better known to her family and friends as "Candy" she always made herself available to help anyone in need, and as she put it so tastefully when you asked her how she was doing, her response was always "Loving Life." She was known to be Old School - still had to have a landline.
She enjoyed recreational Softball, loved puppies, but her favorites were Snoopy and Wolves, which she felt were her protection. Candy also liked watching the Sabres and the Bills and was still hopeful, waiting for them both, to get that Big Win.
Candace was married to the love of her life, her best friend and beloved wife, Diane Casey-Wnek.
She was the devoted daughter of F. Lucille Casey and late Gerard Casey and loving sister of Michael (Ruth Bardon) Casey and her twin sister Karen Casey.
A dearest sister-in-law of Paul (Gerri) Wnek and the late Dennis (Judy) Wnek and aunt of Ashlyn Wnek.
The cherished adopted godmother of Kimberly (Don) Adamczyk and their daughters Gabrielle and Brianna and special best friends of Nancy and Sharon Gerbracht, Kim and Desiree Coleman-Korbs, and proud dog-mom to Sadie.
Candy was also survived by cousins and numerous friends.
The family will be present on Saturday afternoon, December 4, 2021, from 1 to 3 PM at the PIETSZAK FUNERAL HOME, 2400 William St. (near Harlem) where a Celebration of Candy's Life along with Military Honors, to honor her service as a Marine, will follow the visitation at 3 PM.
Flowers gratefully declined.
