Obituary

Former owner of the Clarence Delicatessen in Buffalo.
She was an Honor graduate of Girl's Vocational High School and was employed at the former Gertzman Woman's Clothing Manufacturer as a pattern cutter. She married Joseph Tatko in 1946 and with him owned and operated the Clarence Delicatessen on Clarence and Hutchinson Avenues from 1948 till 1983. In addition to being a neighborhood grocery, the store provided lunches for employees of the Harrison Radiator Division of General Motors on Clyde Avenue and other neighborhood businesses.
Caroline was a longtime member of the St. James Catholic Church (formerly on Bailey Avenue)  and it's Ladies Sodality. She became a resident of Cheektowaga since 1983. After moving to Cheektowaga, she continued her involvement in the Church, serving as communicant at Our Lady of Czestochowa Catholic Church and was also an active member of the Ladies Club and Rosary Society.

Caroline was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Tatko who pre-deceased in 1994;
Devoted mother of Delphine (Stephen) Scott, of Port Matilda, PA and Linda (Steven) Cooper, of Wilbraham, MA. loving grandmother of Warren (Katherine) Scott of Aloha OR, Julia (Hosain) Rouhi of Gambrills MD, Catherine Scott of Burbank CA, Geoffrey Scott of Ann Arbor MI, Jacqueline Cooper of Burlington VT and Benjamin Cooper of Providence RI;
The Loving daughter of the late Frances and Andrew Krol and Dearest sister of Florence (late William) Lawicki, Henry (late Dorothy) Krol and the late Victoria and Julia Krol and Anna (late Walter) Mohalski; dear aunt of Judith Sielski, SM Juanita CSSF, Paul Mohalski, Jerome Lawicki and Daniel Nowak.
The family will be present Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Pietszak Fuenral Home, 2400 William St. (near Harlem) where services will be held Saturday at 8:45 AM and at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church at 9:30 AM.
Her burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Cheektowaga, NY.

Caroline's family would like to express there deepest appreciation to the staff of Elderwood at Maplewood Health Care and Eden Heights, for their kind and compassionate care that they gave to their mother.
