A retired meatpacker, working in the coolers at Sahlen Packing Company and the former Joseph Malecki Corp., both of Buffalo, New York, Daniel J. Mellody, passed away at the Sisters of Charity Hospital, in Buffalo, New York, at the age of 68, after complications from the Covid-19 Virus.

Better known as "Spinner" to his friends, Daniel acquired the nickname in his younger years, when he owned fast cars and for his ability for spinning out. He was also a jokester, having a quick comeback or remark for any situation.

Besides his love of Johnny Cash, his music and just recently being able to visit the Johnny Cash Museum, Ryman Auditorium, and the Grand Ole Opry, in Nashville, Tennesee, Spinner, could always be found, in his special seat, at the Anchor Inn on William Street, having a Blue with friends or at his home continuously changing the decorations outside for every Occasion or Holiday - one of his favorite past-times.

He was the beloved son of the late Stella (nee Raczka) Mellody and the late Patrick J. Mellody.

The devoted brother of David Mellody, Robert Mellody, Cynthia (Marty Needham) Mellody, and late Patrick Mellody, Jr. and was also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will be present for visitation on, Thursday, June 10, 2021, from 4-8 PM at the PIETSZAK FUNERAL HOME, 2400 William St. (near Harlem)

A funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home on, Friday, June 11, 2021, at 10 AM.

Rev. Duke Zajac will be officiating.

Interment will follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, in Cheektowaga, New York.

Face coverings and social distancing will be required at all times during Daniel's services. Current capacity restrictions may cause delayed entry. Thank you for your understanding.
