Age 64

David was the beloved husband of Helen Osgood;

A devoted father of Katherine Hurley (Damon Agnos) and Meghan Hurley (Benjamin Yost) and loving grandfather of Rowan David Hurley Yost;

Brother of the late Donald (Joan) Rutecki; brother-in-law of Cynthia (Jimmy) Johnson, and M. Susan Peterman.

Family will be present Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Pietszak Funeral Home, 2400 William St. (near Harlem).

Relatives and friends are invited to assemble for a Mass of Christian Burial at Assumption Church (435 Amherst Street, 14207) Monday at 9:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to Assumption Church or the Erie County SPCA.

David died while visiting his family for the birth of his first grandson in New York City.

He was the Buffalo Common Council Chief of Staff for six years and was elected to the North District seat in the city council in 1983.  He left for a job in the banking industry and became a vice president at M&T Bank, working on the bank's relationship with local communities.
