A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, and friend, Dolores E. Kocieniewski, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026. at the Mercy Nursing Facility at Our Lady of Victory, in Lackawanna, New York. She was the beloved wife of the love of her life and best friend, the late John D. Kocieniewski, the founder and COO of the Como Park Agency, Inc. in Cheektowaga, New York, who predeceased her on August 1, 1990.
A devoted mother to Michael J. Kocieniewski, Daniel (Elif) Kocieniewski, Nancy (Steve) Becker, Diane (Roger) Suter, James (Deborah) Kocieniewski, John (Debra) Kocieniewski, and the late Roger Gurney.
She is survived by her cherished grandchildren, Joann (Robert) Rohr, Michael A. (Jacqueline) Kocieniewski, Lila Kocieniewski, Mimoza Kocieniewski, Brian (Michelle) Gurney, Matthew (Megan) Gurney, Joseph (Ray Vega) Gurney, Samantha Suter, David (Makayla Foster) Kocieniewski, Eva (John Chadderdon) Kocieniewski, Kyle Kocieniewski, the late Andrew Kocieniewski and great-grandchildren, Amber Rohr, Ben Rohr, Jade Rohr, Rose Rohr, Michael J. Kocieniewski, Matthew Kocieniewski, Genevieve Gurney, Madelyn Gurney, Mason Gurney, and Miles Gurney.
Brought into this world on Tuesday, July 5th, 1938, by her loving parents, the late Mary (nee Zablotny) and the late Henry Murak, and was a cherished sister to Mary (late Norbert) Meier, Henry Murak, Arthur (Cheryl) Tubisz, and the late Jacqueline (Larry) Dubaj and late Paulette Tubisz.
She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Dolores always enjoyed the opportunity to spend time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, quilting, and her dogs. She was an awesome baker.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation on Tuesday, January 13th, 2026, from 4 to 7 PM at the Pietszak Funeral Home, 2400 William St. (near Harlem).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Queen of Heaven Church, 4220 Seneca Street, in West Seneca, New York 14224, on Wednesday, January 14th, 2026 at 9 AM.
Entombment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Cheektowaga, New York.
The family prefers donations be made in her honor to the Alzheimer's Association , Golisano Children's Hospital of Buffalo (formerly Oishei Children's Hospital) or Camp Good Days and Special Times.
Dolores will be remembered for her steadfast devotion to her family and the quiet strength and kindness that shaped the lives of everyone around her. Though she is deeply missed, her memory and the example she set will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
