Obituary

We begin with a quote from a friend - who wrote on Gus's Facebook page that sums it up the best!

"We all know that one person. That person you can call at any time, and they are there to help. The person whose personality is so bright and joyful that you're thankful to know them. Many people go through life without any impact on the people around them And then there's "Gus Buczek." Gus can make a stone shine like a diamond, just by being next to him. He's that guy with a smile, and something positive to say. That person that's going to put you, ahead of himself, because your success is his happiness. Gus brings laughter and joy to all that meet him. Thank you, Don Buczek, for making a difference."

On November 28, 2019, at Buffalo Hospice, in Cheektowaga, New York, Donald "Gus" Buczek answered his Final Call, at the age of 60.

A Machinist by trade, he worked in the aircraft division at Moog, Inc., in Elma, New York, for over 30 years, he also moonlighted as a bartender at the former Anchor Inn, and at the Clinton Bar & Grill, both in Cheektowaga. Gus served in the Marines as a Corporal in the 2nd Marine Division, at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina for 3 years. He was an avid Harley enthusiast and enjoyed golfing with friends and was a member of The Club at Silver Lake, The West Seneca Men's Social Club and presently he served the Cheektowaga community as an active Fireman for the South Line Fire District No. 10, for the p ast 8 years. Gus enjoyed traveling and spending time with his wife Joyce and they, together with many friends, enjoyed vacationing and were able to journey to 28 Caribbean Islands. He was always there to lend a hand to neighbors and friends by either plowing or shoveling in the winter, tending to the grass in the summer, or just saying a kind word, a smile or even what he was best known for, His Hugs.
