Obituary

A retired Binder for over 40 years at Quebecor Printing, in Depew, New York, Donald A. Swiniarski, passed away at Garden Gate Health Care Facility, in Cheektowaga, New York, at the age of 69.

An active Fireman for Doyle Hose Co. #2, of Cheektowaga, New York for over 47 years, and Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War, where he participated in the Naval Training Course for Fireman and also received the National Defense Service Medal and the Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon. Donald enjoyed his retirement by traveling with his wife to Florida and visiting the Casino whenever possible. He was also noted to be the best Armchair Coach the Yankees ever had.

He was the beloved husband of Diane (nee Rutkowski) Swiniarski and devoted step-father of Lisa Gombos and Steven Gombos. Step-grandfather of Ashley, Sarah, and Alex.

Donald was the loving son of Irma and the late Alfred Swiniarski and son-in-law of the late Margaret and late Leonard Rutkowski.  The dearest brother of Dennis (Kim) Swiniarski and brother-in-law of Richard (Sandra) Rutkowski as well as the proud uncle of Michael Swiniarski, Steven (Tammy) Rutkowski, Michele Winsor and Cynthia (Jim) Giangrosso.

The family will be present on Wednesday afternoon from  4 - 7:30 PM at the PIETSZAK FUNERAL HOME, 2400 William St. (near Harlem) where a Celebration of Donald's Life, will follow visitation at 7:30 PM.

Inurnment will follow at St. Matthew's Cemetery, West Seneca, New York at a later date.
