Obituary

A retired salesman at Si Gumpert, a food Manufacturer out of Jersey City, New Jersey, Edward F. Dziedzic, passed away at Brothers of Mercy Nursing Home, in Clarence, New York, at the age of 97.

A World War II Army Veteran, Edward served as a Clerk Typist in the 81st General Hospital for two years and nine months. He took part in the Battle of the Bulge during World War II and was stationed in England, France and Belgium. He separated from the service in December of 1945 at the rank of Sergeant. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. As a civilian, he attended the University of Buffalo through the GI Bill and worked as a salesman in the food products industry. He was also a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Edward a parishioner of the former Holy Apostles SS. Peter and Paul Church, in Buffalo, New York, was a recipient of the St. Joseph the Worker Award, President of the Parish Council at SS. Peter & Paul, as well as a m ember of the parish Choir, Lectors, Holy Name Society, St. Vincent De Paul Society, and also, served on the Board of Directors of the former SS. Peter & Paul Athletic Club, Inc, also in Buffalo, New York. He also enjoyed singing, fishing, playing cards with family and friends, completing crossword puzzles and reading.

Edward also known as "Deeds" to his family and friends was the beloved son of the late Rose (nee Kulczyk) and late Lawrence Dziedzic.

The devoted brother of the late Albert Dziedzic, cherished cousin of Marie (late Thomas) Urbanski, Christine (William) Mruk, of Rochester and the late Esther (late Julian) Surowiec and late Joseph (Joan) Kulczyk and dear friend of the late Frank (Irene) Benbenek and their family.

He was also survived by many cousins and great cousins.

The family will be present on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, from 3-8 PM at the PIETSZAK FUNERAL HOME, 2400 William St. (near Harlem Rd).

Relatives and friends are invited to assemble for a Mass of Christian Burial at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (located at 8500 Main St. 14221) on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at 10:30 AM.

Burial with Military Honors will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, in Cheektowaga, New York.

In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the Nativity of BVM Church, 4375 Harris Hill Rd. Williamsville, NY 14221.
