Edward Frank Giermek was born on Thursday, March 24, 1921 to Mary (nee Kaminski) and Jan "John" Giermek in Buffalo, New York.  He married the former Florence F. Nowak on April 3, 1948.

Devoted father of Marlene (David) Vastola and James (Margaret Davis) Giermek.

Loving grandfather of Jason Vastola, Julie Vastola, Jessica Vastola, Jennifer Giermek, James (Agata) Giermek, Deborah Giermek, and Kevin Giermek.  Fond great-grandfather of William Garra, Edward Garra, Mason Giermek and Avery Giermek.  He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Family will be present on Thursday from 4-7 PM at the PIETSZAK FUNERAL HOME, 2400 William Street, near Harlem Road where services will be held Friday at 9 AM and at Queen of Angels Church at 10 AM.

Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Lackawanna, New York.
