Wiess
May 17, 1931 – October 27, 2015
Known to most of his friends as the "Big O" or "Oscar," Edward Wiess passed away at Harris Hill Nursing Home, in Lancaster, New York. He served from April 1952 till April 1954, during the Korean War, as a Marine Corps Corporal and received the National Defense Service Medal. Ed was also a retired Subforeman at National Fuel, in West Seneca, New York.
Edward was the beloved husband of Eleanor (nee Krajna) and devoted father of Kevin (Jackie) Wiess.
He was the loving grandfather of Kaitlyn (fiancé Nick Matecki) Wiess, Krysta Wiess and was also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The Family will be present on Friday from 4 - 8 PM at the PIETSZAK FUNERAL HOME, 2400 William St. (near Harlem) where services will be held Saturday morning at 10:15 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Queen of Martyrs Church, located at 180 George Urban Boulevard, in Cheektowaga, NY at 11 AM.
Following the Church services, Military Honors and Entombment will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, in Cheektowaga, NY. All are welcome to attend.
