Elaine Juszkiewicz (nee Kuligowski), a dedicated crossing guard for the Town of Cheektowaga for 55 years, passed away on April 22, 2026. Born on October 27, 1948, in Buffalo, New York to her cherished parents, Alice and John Kuligowski. Elaine devoted much of her life to serving her community with unwavering commitment and care. Throughout her career, Elaine became a familiar and reassuring presence to countless children and families, exemplifying reliability and dedication in her role.
Elaine was the beloved wife of Daniel J. Juszkiewicz, Sr. She was a devoted mother to Daniel J. (Laurie) Juszkiewicz, Jr. and Melanie (Tony) Garmone. Her loving nature extended warmly to her grandchildren: Alexa (Alec) Reyer, Madison Juszkiewicz, Alyssa Garmone, Jaclyn Garmone, and Jenna Juszkiewicz. Elaine’s family was central to her life, and she nurtured close bonds with them all.
She was the dearest sister of the late Marcia (Michael) Kaczmarek and held a special place in the hearts of her sisters-in-law Lori (Jerry) White and Linda (late Thomas) Juszkiewicz. In addition, Elaine is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins, who remember her fondly.
A Celebration of Elaine's Life will be held on Friday, May 1st, from 4 to 7 PM at the Pietszak Funeral Home, located at 2400 William Street, Cheektowaga, NY 14206. Family, relatives, and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, May 2nd, at 10 AM at Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 4125 Union Road, Cheektowaga, NY 14225.
Inurnment will take place at Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery in Cheektowaga, NY.
