Elaine retired from the New York State Department of Labor in 2001 where she worked for 37 years. Starting there as the Secretary, she worked her way up to various Administrative and Management positions. Elaine was also heavily involved in public employee union activities: contract negotiations, labor management, and grievance processes.

In 2004, she became a volunteer usher at O'Connell and Company Productions Inc. in Williamsville, NY. Because she always had to offer suggestions & I couldn't say "No",  she wore many hats over the next 15 years. To name a few hats that she wore: Webmaster, coordinator of volunteer activities, managed the office, served on the Board of Directors including Board President, managed the ticketing operation and many other projects that were tossed in her direction. On Wednesdays, she donned a sparkly black outfit, adorned herself with "bling" and stepped on stage as a DIVA in WNY's longest-running show: DIVA by DIVA: A Celebration of Women!

Elaine was the loving wife of the late Lawrence "Larry" Todd. She is also survived by her nephew, nieces, cousins, and a host of loving friends and Divas.
