Marranca
January 31, 1931 – November 8, 2019
A retired Laborer with Laborers Union 210, Frank Marranca, passed away at the age of 88. A lifelong resident and supporter of the Lovejoy Neighborhood, he also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Besides working for the Laborers 210 and providing for his family, Frank was active helping out at bingos and other events at the former St. Francis of Assisi & St. Agnes Churches and then at St. Katharine Drexel, & St. Andrew's Churches, as well as Mary Queen of Angels School. He also participated for several years in the Assumption Walk at Our Lady Help of Christians Church and the "Washing of the Feet Ceremony" held there.
Frank was the cherished and devoted father of JoAnn (James) Hoinski, Charles (Darlene) Marranca, Frank Marranca and Mary (Don) Marranca-Hood.
He was the beloved grandfather or "Papa" to Jeanette (Jason) Carlin, James (Rebecca) Hoinski, Jacqueline (Richard) Galfo, Christopher Marranca, Craig (Derrick Brill) Marranca, Chad Marranca, Donte Marranca-Hood, and Donovan Hood and great-grandfather or "Old Papa" to Julian Carlin, Jensen Carlin, Grayson Hoinski, Alina Galfo, and Casey Galfo.
The proud and loved son of the late Charles (late Maria) Marranca and late Josephine (nee Curto) Marranca, and dearest brother of Sally (Frank) Sakoski, the late Mary (late Charles) Buscarino and late Joseph (late Clara) Marranca.
He was also survived by several other loving nieces, nephews and cousins from the Buffalo and Canada area.
The family will be present on Tuesday afternoon from 2-8 PM at the PIETSZAK FUNERAL HOME, 2400 William St. (near Harlem) where a prayer service will be held on Wednesday morning at 9:30 AM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Andrew's Parish, located at Crocker and Reiman Streets also on Wednesday at 10 AM.
Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, in Cheektowaga, New York.
