Staszak
April 30, 1920 – February 12, 2018
A lifelong member of the St. John Kanty Parish, and a retiree of Ford Motor Company at Woodlawn UAW 897, Henry Staszak, better know to his family and friends as "Handsome Hank", passed away at Father Baker Manor, in Orchard Park, New York at the age of 97.
He served as a Technical Sergeant, in the 1328 th Army Air Force Base Unit during WWII and received the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal and the American Service Medal and was a member of the American Legion Adam Plewacki Post #799 and the China Burma India Organization for Veterans of WWII.
A member of the 1938 Alumni of Burgard High School and Boy Scouts of America Troop #107, where he attained the rank of Eagle Scout and for several years was most notably the best armchair quarterback and season ticket holder of the Buffalo Bills since 1964.
Henry was the beloved husband of the late Estelle (nee Kalisz) and the late Eleanor (Palys) and devoted father of Rodney (Deborah) Staszak and Kenneth (Margaret) Staszak, James (Wendy) Palys, Peggy (Robert) Crisman and Patricia (Michael) Daniel.
A loving grandfather of Ashley (John) Wroblewski, Ross Staszak, Leah (Tom) Gallagher, Timothy (Nicole) Staszak, Janelle (Tim) Kennedy, Michael (Wendy) Crisman, Abby (Josh) Orr, Kristy (Alex) Sunga, James (Justine Geiger) Daniel and the late Joseph Daniel and great-grandfather of Cameron and Tess Gallagher, Harper, June, Jackson Kennedy, Bannon Staszak, Ruby Sunga, Carter and Owen Crisman, Hayden and Avery Orr.
The dearest son of the late Martha (nee Thrun) and Francis Staszak and dear brother of Norbert (Mary) Staszak and the late Richard (late Irene) Staszak and also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Family will be present on Thursday from 4-8 PM at the Pietszak Funeral Home, 2400 William Street (near Harlem).
Relatives and friends are invited to assemble for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John Kanty Parish, located on Broadway at Swinburne Sts., on Friday morning at 9 AM.
Interment with military honors, will follow at St. Matthew's Cemetery, in West Seneca, NY.
