IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Henry Adam
Ziomkowski
July 22, 1925 – January 15, 2021
A former Corporal and Barber in the US. Marines during World War II, Henry Adam Ziomkowski, passed away at Harris Hill Nursing Facility, in Lancaster, New York, at the age of 95.
Better known as "Henry the Barber" he served his East Buffalo Neighborhood since 1946 and till a few years ago was still doing house and hospital calls, cutting hair for just 3 to 5 dollars. While serving as a Barber, Henry was also a Brakemen, for several years for the Nickel Plate Railroad, whose official name was the New York, Chicago & St. Louis Railroad, one of the Midwest's largest Railroads, stretching from Buffalo, New York, across northern Ohio and throughout Indiana.
In his younger years, Henry boasted as being one of the youngest Bartenders that ever worked for the Downtown Knights of Columbus, and that he had to take three buses each way to work there. He loved the outdoors, doing as much Fishing and especially Hunting whenever he could. He also enjoyed watching his Buffalo Bills and was the Greatest "Radio" Armchair Manager, the Yankees ever had. GO Yankees!
He was the beloved husband of late Geraldine (nee Lukaszewski) Ziomkowski.
The devoted father of Bonny Ann (James) Zolnowski, Barbara (Duane) Kross - Ptak and late Henry Ziomkowski, Jr.
A loving grandfather of Renee Ann (Tony) Biscotto, Shannon Ann (Mitchel) Schechter, Jamie (Heather) Zolnowski, late Brian Ptak, Jennifer Morales, Sara (Francesco) Lopez, Cody Kross, and great-grandfather of 12.
The cherished son of the late Anna (nee Rawza) Ziomkowski and the late Frank Ziomkowski and dearest brother of Florence (late Steve) Kloss, late Leon (late Millie) Ziomkowski, and late Bernice (late Paul) Brookler.
Out of concern for the Coronavirus pandemic, the family is not planning any service at this time. However, they look forward to celebrating Henry with extended family members and friends at a Memorial Mass as well as a Celebration of his life that will be planned at a later date.
The family appreciates your prayers and concerns for their father and grandfather, during these trying times and would like to thank you for your outpouring of love and support they have received.
Please take a minute to share a picture in our online Photo Album or a favorite memory in our Guest Book here on Henry's Tribute page.
