SERVICES UPDATE: Saturday, April 26th, 2025
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 26th, 2025, at St. Stanislaus Church, located at 389 Peckham Street at the intersection with Wilson Street in Buffalo, NY, at 11 AM.
Please assemble at the church.
Born in Buffalo, NY, a daughter of the late Victoria (nee Filar) and the late William Skulicz, who emigrated from Poland in the 1890s and received her law degree from the University at Buffalo School of Law in 1954. Justice Mikoll was appointed a Buffalo City Court Judge at age 27 in 1957 after two years as an Assistant City Corporation Counsel. She subsequently won election to the City Court and was reelected in 1967. Her election to the Supreme Court in 1971 made her the first woman ever elected to that position outside of New York City. She was reelected in 1985. She obtained both her undergraduate, in 1951 and law, in 1954, degrees from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Justice Mikoll has the distinction of being the first woman to preside as the Justice Presiding of a Third Department panel. She was a member of the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct for four years. She retired from the Third Department in 1999.

Judge Ann is predeceased by her siblings Thaddeus (late Mary) Skulicz, Matthew Skulicz, Stanley (late Adele) Skulicz, Josephine (late Stanley) Moore and Jadwiga (late Valentine) Zimniewicz.
She is survived by her sister-in-law Melanie (late Francis) Mikoll-Nuwer and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be present on Monday, April 14th from 4-8 PM at the PIETSZAK FUNERAL HOME, 2400 William Street, near Harlem Road.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Stanislaus Church (389 Peckham Street at the intersection with Wilson Street, in Buffalo, 14206) on Saturday, April 26th at 11 AM .
