A retired Cable Sorter at Western Electric Irene L. Kilanski - Dabek, passed away at Sisters of Charity Hospital St. Joseph Campus, at the age of 95.

Besides working at Western Electric for over 17 years, Irene also worked at National Biscuit Co and Standard Mirror.

After her retirement, Irene enjoyed spending time with her family teaching the girls how to make her famous Golumpki and Potato Soup that was enjoyed by many over the years.

Irene was predeceased by her husband and Soulmate the late Edmund Dabek who passed away in 1973. With Edmund, they became the parents of their children Patricia Bulera, Kathleen (David) Nowicki, and the late David (Betty) Dabek. She was also survived by 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Later in life, she met and married the late Zigmund Kilanski, who with she moved to Perry, New York and spent many years there and also relished several trips traveling to Poland to visit Zigmund's family. After his death, Irene moved back to Buffalo, New York to be closer to her children and grandchildren.

She was the daughter of the late Haddie (nee Jankowiak) and the late Peter Jankowski.

Irene was also predeceased by her brother the late Stanley (late Sonya) Jankowski and sisters the late Theresa (late Edward) Zolnowski, and late Dolores (late Thaddeus) Jakubowicz.

The family will be present on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the PIETSZAK FUNERAL HOME, 2400 William St. (near Harlem) where a funeral service Celebrating Irene's Life will be held on Wednesday evening at 7 PM conducted by the Rev. Louis Klein.

Burial will take place with the Family Graveside at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, in Cheektowaga, New York on Thursday morning at 9 AM.
