Obituary

After a courageous 2 year battle with colon cancer, Jack Alan Toy, went to Heaven to be with the Lord, on Wednesday, August 12, 2020.

Jack was a Veteran of the US Navy, serving on the USS Venture, as a Boilerman and Fireman Apprentice, stationed at US Naval Air Station, in Pensacola, Florida, from 1968 till 1970, and was a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal. He was a retired Recycler at the Tops Markets Distribution Center, in Lancaster, NY after over 30 years of service. In his retirement he got to enjoy his passion with Powerlifting, winning several prestigious trophies and awards for his achievements in the sport. He also was excellent at spoiling his daughters and granddaughters. Besides having a passion for cooking and grilling for his family, he enjoyed having his PBR's and spending time with family and friends. Jack, who also loved baseball, favored going to the Bison's Games, but will always be known to his family and friends as the Best ArmChair Coach the Orioles Baseball team ever had!

Jack was the beloved husband, to the Love of His Life and Best Friend, his wife Geraldine "Geri" (nee Grapczynski) Toy.

The devoted father of Kelly (Gordon) Harvey, Amanda (Sherry Etterle) Toy and Jaclyn (Mark) Chudzinski and loving grandfather to Madison Snyder and Samantha Harvey and his late granddogs Barney, Merle, Willie and Pebbles and was also survived by his grand fur-babies Waylon, Cash, Shiloh Rose, Rosie, Macy, Brutus, and Lily.

He was the loving son of the late Dorothy (nee Maunz) and late Donald Toy.

Dearest brother of Donald (Cynthia) Toy and William "Mike" (Paula) Toy and brother-in-law of Shirley (late David) Glinski and Timothy (Mary Jo) Grapczynski. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

The family will be gathering to receive family and friends on Tuesday evening, August 18, 2020, from 6-8 PM at the PIETSZAK FUNERAL HOME, at 2400 William Street, near Harlem Rd.

Relatives and friends are invited to assemble for a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at Queen of Martyrs Church, located at 180 George Urban Blvd., in Cheektowaga, NY 14225 on Wednesday morning at 9 AM.

Military Honors will follow immediately after the Mass.

Flowers are gratefully declined.

The family prefers that Memorials be made to Hospice Buffalo, Inc. 225 Como Park Blvd, Cheektowaga, New York 14227.

Face coverings and social distancing will be required at all times during Mr. Toy's services. Current capacity restrictions may cause delayed entry. Thank you for your understanding.
