Hurliman
September 3, 1966 – January 21, 2020
One of the originators of Nickel City Bottle & Can Return Center, in West Seneca, New York, James Edward Hurliman, passed away suddenly at Sisters of Charity Hospital, in Buffalo, New York, at the age of 53.
Known as a Loud, sometimes Goofy, and an Instigator, and also known to friends as "Jimbo or Godfather" he formerly worked at "Cheers", "The Basement", and "Hurliman's Pub" and was always, the Life of the Party.
He also had a quiet side, enjoying writing short stories, watching movies & TV, and making short films. His most recent passion was spending time with his nieces and nephews, and all the different activities that they were involved with.
The devoted son of Mary Ann (DiSalvo) Hurliman and Anthony (Catherine Schiske) Hurliman.
Jimmy was the dearest brother of Rose (Patrick) Schiske, Jeanne (Steven) Samson, Jeffrey (Lisa) Hurliman and late Anthony Hurliman and a cherished uncle of Nicole Schiske, Alissa Schiske, Anthony Samson, Jacob Samson, Nicholas Samson and Ryan Hurliman. Dear friend of Suzette Kolaga.
He was also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
The family will be present on Sunday afternoon from 2-7 PM at the PIETSZAK FUNERAL HOME, 2400 William St. (near Harlem).
A Celebration of Jim's Life will be held on Monday morning at 10 AM at the Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, in Cheektowaga, New York.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jim's name are preferred to the Multiple Sclerosis Society - WNY Chapter.
