Known to his friends as "Big Jim," he died suddenly, on Wednesday. October 30, at the age of 60.  He was a former Heavy Equipment operator at Visone, in Lancaster, NY,

Jim, was the devoted father of Courtney (Sonny Mazzara) Vona, Shannon Silva and Scott Silva and grandfather of Gabrielle, Eddie, Mariah, Vincent and Audriana.

The son of the late Manuel and Irene Silva, brother of Joyce (Randy) Kaczynski, Suzan (late Kent) Hart, Linda Silva and Joseph (Sandra) Silva and dear companion of Fran Phillians. He was also survived by nieces and nephews.

The family will be gathering for a Celebration of Jim's Life, on  Monday from  3-7 PM at the PIETSZAK FUNERAL HOME, 2400 William Street (near Harlem), in Cheektowaga, NY 14206

A funeral service will follow visitation at 7 PM.
