May 7, 1928 – July 6, 2024
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Jane (née Wrona) Bogdan passed into eternal life at the age of 96. She was born in Lackawanna and resided in Buffalo. She died in Summerville, South Carolina where she lived out her later years in the home of her daughter and son-in-law.
Jane loved to cook, bake, and entertain. She was known for her delicious pineapple cuts! She was a Life Member of the VFW Hriczko Post #6245 Ladies Auxiliary.
She played Bingo, cards, and dominoes, usually winning. She enjoyed visits from friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who often visited.
Jane was the beloved wife of Marion "Buddy" Bogdan who predeceased her on April 8, 2015, after 65 years of marriage. She was the devoted mother of Paul Bogdan, JoAnn (James) McCoy, and the late Joseph Bogdan.
A loving grandmother of Daniel (Stephanie) Bogdan, Nicholas Bogdan, Buster (Amy) McCoy, Molly (Don) Willard, Megan (Tee) Twomey, Laura (Jay) Cleary, Jacob (Kat) McCoy, Kaitlin (John) Triplett, and Mallory (Richard) White.
Great-grandmother of Ally McCoy, Emily Willard, Maddie Willard, Hannah Willard, Luke Willard, Finn Twomey, Annabelle Twomey, Greyson Cleary, Carson Cleary, Adeline Triplett, John Walker Triplett, Ricky White, Norah White, Lydia White, Monica White, Leland White and Margaret White.
Dearest sister of late Marion (late Walt) Malak, late Joseph Wrona, late Dorothy (late Ted) Cybulski, and sister-in-law of Estelle (late Thomas) Smith, late Ted (Christine) Bogdan, late Henry (late Dorothy) Bogdan, late Harriet (late Richard) Pasciak, and the late Irene (late Pete) Piotrowski.
She was also survived by many dear nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family also wishes to acknowledge Jane's devoted caregivers Michelle Jones, Carrie Hill, and Lisa Rios.
The family will be present for visitation on Thursday, July 11, 2024, from 4 - 8 PM at the Pietszak Funeral Home, 2400 William Street (near Harlem).
Relatives and friends are invited to assemble for a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, located at 2158 Clinton Street, in Cheektowaga, New York, on Friday, July 12, 2024 at 9:30 AM. Please assemble at the Church.
Interment will follow at St. Matthew's Cemetery, in West Seneca, New York.
