A cherished mother, nana, great nana, great fur-nana and friend, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness. Throughout her life, she brought warmth and love to those around her, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her.

Reunited with her husband Donald Bender, her parents Cecelia (nee Zilniski) and Edward Suhr, and her grandsons Nicholas Bender and Aaron Bender.

Joan was a devoted mother to Ricky (Susan) Bender, Robin (Marc) Mutka and Richard (Diane) Bender. Her nurturing spirit and endless support were also shared with her grandchildren Jennifer (Adam) Milewski, Jessica (Andy) George, Jordan (Erica) Mutka, Jared (Ashleigh Olivas) Mutka, Julie Bender, Ashley (Kevin) Scribbick, the late Nicholas Bender and the late Aaron Bender. Fond great nana of Tessa, Vivian, Charlotte, Christopher, Sadie, Noah, Adeline, Brandon and Riley. Dear great fur-nana of Emmy and Fievel.

Her extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends remember Joan as a pillar of kindness and generosity. Her warmth and love will be remembered by all who knew her.

Family will be present Tuesday, November 25, 2025 from 4-7 PM at the PIETSZAK FUNERAL HOME, 2400 William Street Cheektowaga, NY 14206. Relatives and friends are invited to assemble for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Gabriel Parish (5271 Clinton Street) Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at 9:30 AM.
