Joan M. Brodfuehrer was born on Monday, January 28, 1935, to the late Mary and late Henry Brodfuehrer, in Buffalo, New York.   Joan was a Secretary at Frank Nowicki Insurance for many years.

She enjoyed Bingo, Bowling, her Scratchers or the Casino, and especially the family card games. She made the best Chicken Soup but always appreciated cooking with her children and showing them how to prepare her award-winning Golumpki so that they could teach their children. Joan was always busy doing something, but she always found time if you stopped in to sit a spell with you and share a beer and a story.

Joan was the beloved wife of the late William J. Ernest, who predeceased her on September 17, 2012.

A devoted mother of Diane (David) Weber, Bill (Maureen) Ernest, Michael (Deborah) Ernest, Pat (George) Captain, Robert Ernest, and Lisa (Kurt) Guinther.

A loving grandmother of Amy Weber, Mark (Tina Alabisi) Weber, Kristy (late Luis) Pirela, Amanda (Kevin) Lindamer, Jillian Ernest, Zachery Sebastian, Jennifer (late Garry) Weiss, Michael (Jennifer) Ernest Jr., Matthew Captain, and Megan Captain.

Fond great-grandmother of Tristyn, Trinity, Braden, Dominic, Jordan, Liliana, Ariana, Skyler, Preston, Madison, Mason, Michael, Jr., Emma, a nd a great-great-grandson Jayce.

Dearest sister of Shirley (late Chuck) Glass and Carol (Jack) Gifford and sister-in-law of Joan (late John) D'Angelo, Betty (Jerry) Blaszak, and the late Marylou (Joseph) Mikolajczak.

She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will be present on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, from 4-8 PM at the PIETSZAK FUNERAL HOME, 2400 William Street, near Harlem Road, where a celebration of Joan's life will be held on Thursday morning, November 18, 2021, at 10 AM.

Burial will follow at Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery, Cheektowaga, New York.

In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to Hospice Buffalo, Inc. 225 Como Park Boulevard, Cheektowaga, New York 14227.
