IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joan P.
Lus
August 26, 1933 – May 14, 2025
Joan touched many lives with her kindness, generosity, and unconditional love. Whether you knew her as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, or neighbor, her warmth and spirit left a lasting impression.
Joan dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker, where she created a home filled with love and laughter. Her passions included gardening, cooking, watching the Buffalo Bills and spending cherished moments with her family and extended friends, who fondly referred to her as "mom."
Joan is reunited with her husband Robert H. Lus, and her parents, Mary (nee Jurka) and Edward Slifierski.
She leaves behind a legacy of love through her children: Darrell, Cheryl (Rob) Winegar, Denise (Donald) Hoag, and Timothy (fiancée Michele Kliber) Lus. Joan was a loving grandmother to Melissa (Brian) Stewart, Kevin (Rachel) Lus, Tracey (Bruce) Morgan, Carrie Winegar, Robbie (Meaghan) Winegar, Jonathan Hoag, and Christopher Hoag. She was also a fond great-grandmother to Sophia Lus, Camden Morgan, Haley Stewart, Nathan Lus, Hannah Stewart, Mason Morgan, Griffen Lus, Noah Winegar, and Amelia Winegar.
Family and friends will be present Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 2-7 PM at the PIETSZAK FUNERAL HOME, 2400 William St., Cheektowaga, NY 14206. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in her honor at Saint John Paul II Parish, 2052 Lakeview Road, Lakeview, NY 14085, on Monday, May 19, 2025 at 10 AM.
Joan's memory will forever be treasured by all who knew her. Her enduring spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us all. Though Joan is no longer with us, her light continues to shine through each of us whose life she touched. Please leave a message in the Guest Book or upload a photo to the Online Photo Album.
