A retired Mortgage Account Clerk for HSBC, JoAnn Scherer, passed away at Safire Rehabilitation at Southtowns, in Buffalo, NY at the age of 82.
JoAnn was a Past Commander of the Pvt. Leonard Post, Jr. Post, No 6251 Ladies Auxiliary. She will also be missed for her famous B-B-Q Hamburgers and Baked Beans that she used to make at the Camp Grounds and her Signature Stuffing at Thanksgiving.
JoAnn was the devoted mother of Robert (Susan) Scherer, Gino Scherer, and Marilyn (late Ronald) Schmidt.
The loving grandmother of Ronald R. Schmidt and Rebecca L. (Fiance Harley Burfield) Schmidt and proud great-grandmother of Cleo Burfield and Willow Burfield.
She was the daughter of the late John Fechtor and the late Bernice (nee Scibor) Fechtor and dearest sister of John (Shirley) Fechtor, Katherine (Don) Fechtor, and late Alice Popp.
The family will be present on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, from 3-7 PM at the PIETSZAK FUNERAL HOME, 2400 William St. (near Harlem) where a Celebration of Life service will be held at 6:30 PM.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
Face coverings and social distancing will be required at all times during Mrs. Scherer's services.
The family appreciates your prayers and concerns during these trying times and would like to thank you for your support and understanding.
