Leonard was born on Thursday, August 6, 1936 to Mary (nee Ciambor) and John Szymanski in Buffalo, New York.  He was a foreman for the Town of Cheektowaga Facilities Department and member of Doyle Hose Company No. 2 in Cheektowaga, New York for over 60 years.

Beloved husband of late Joan (nee Kapturowski).

Devoted father of Jeffrey (Karen) Szymanski and Karen (Mark) Kmiotek.

Loving grandfather of Samantha Kmiotek and Adam Kmiotek.

Dear brother of Alfred (Lorraine) Szymanski.

He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Family and friends are all invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Andrew Parish, corner of Crocker and Reiman St. Sloan, on Friday, December 13th at 9:30 AM.

Burial with military honors will follow at St. Matthew's Cemetery, West Seneca, New York.
