September 12, 1929 – October 18, 2019
A retired member of the Collections Team at Sears, Roebuck & Co., in Buffalo, NY for over 30 years, the former Mary F. Gromek, passed away at Buffalo Mercy Hospital, at the age of 90. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, daughter, and sister, Mary Bartlomiejczak was known for her love of gardening and her ability to cook anything. She was especially known for her remarkable potato salad that everyone is still trying to duplicate, as well as not letting you go until she could share a meal with you and making sure that you would not leave hungry. Mary also enjoyed playing cards with friends and in her earlier years was a very active member of the Holy Apostles SS. Peter & Paul Church, in Buffalo, NY., always assisting with the Parent Nuns Association, the Parish Council activities, Catholic Charities drives and she also loved spending time with her family at their summer cottage.
Mary was the soul mate and beloved wife of the late Leonard M. Bartlomieczak, who predeceased her in 2015.
The devoted mother of Gary Bartlomiejczak and Judy (Steve) Lane and loving grandmother of Jennifer (Dean) Schwenkbeck, Amy Lane, Justin (Malarie) Bartlomiejczak, Marty Glinski, and the late Gary Bartlomiejczak, Jr.
She was also the proud great-grandmother of Gunnar, Gavan, Xavier, Mason, Deanna, Alyssa, and great-great-grandmother of Tanner.
The dearest daughter of the late Frances (Romek) Gromek and late Joseph Gromek and dear sister of Chester (Molly) Gromek, Dorothy (late George) Dixon, and the late Jan (late Helen) Gromek, late Edward (late Jean) Gromek, late Joseph (late Celeste) Gromek, and the late Stanley (late Jean) Gromek and also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to assemble for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bernard Church, located at 1990 Clinton Street at N. Ogden Street, on Thursday morning at 9:30 AM.
Inurnment will follow at St. Matthew's Cemetery, in West Seneca, New York.
