December 2, 1919 – August 25, 2018
The former Mary E. Honan, a retired Customs Clerk for the US Government Immigration and Border Security, passed away peacefully at Garden Gate Health Care Facility, in Cheektowaga, New York, at the age of 98. Mary was a devoted member of St. Josaphat Church since 1960 and was a member of the parish Altar & Rosary Society and Seniors Group. She was proud of the way she was able to take care of her home, from her Gardening and Fix-it skills and being able to cope with maintaining the Snow, around her home during the winters of Buffalo. She also enjoyed being able to travel internationally, as well as her many bus trips to places such as the local Casinos and Bingo halls, throughout the Western New York area.
The daughter of the late Mary Ellen (nee McDonald) and late Michael Honan, Mary was married for over 41 Years to the late Harry L. Harris who predeceased her in 1984.
She was the devoted mother of Maureen (William) Stockman, Karen (late Joseph) Vastola, Colleen (Daniel) Skotarczak, and Corinne (Mark) Amico.
A loving grandmother of Michael Jasinski, Brian Jasinski, Dawn Marie Roberts, Joseph (Courtney) Vastola, Christina (Christopher) Oliver, Jason Skotarczak, Stephen (Tanisha) Skotarczak, Kimberly (Saverio) Viola, Nicole (Mitchell) Gaut and Shannon Bonadonna and proud great-grandmother of Katherine Roberts, Peyton Roberts, Benjamin Vastola, Katie Vastola, Gavin Vastola, Isabel Oliver, Delia Oliver, Ariya Skotarczak, Sylas Skotarczak, Remy Skotarczak, Valentina Viola, Mattia Viola and Jacob Benedict.
The dearest sister of Peggy "Margaret" (late Daniel) Collins, and the late Thomas (Joan) Honan, late Anna (late Elmer) Wetzel, late Joseph (Elaine) Honan, late John (late Helen) Honan, late Michael (late Jeanne) Honan, late Martin (late Jean) Honan and the late Francis (late Hannah) Honan and also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The Family will be present on Monday from 4-8 PM at the PIETSZAK FUNERAL HOME, 2400 William St. (near Harlem) where services will be held Tuesday at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Josaphat Parish, located at William at Peoria, in Cheektowaga, NY at 9:30 AM.
Interment will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, in Cheektowaga, New York, immediately after the Mass.
Flowers are gratefully declined.
