Matthew "Moe" Miodonski, retired Owner and Operator of Moe and Eddies Tavern, of Gibson Street, near the Broadway Market, in Buffalo, NY, passed away just 3 days after his 95th birthday, at Sisters of Charity Hospital, St. Joseph Campus, in Cheektowaga, NY.
A World War II Veteran and member of the American Legion he was a proud U.S. Army Paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division, Parachute Artillery, from September 24, 1942 till November 20, 1945 and a recipient of the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge and World War II Victory Medal.
The beloved husband of Eleanor (nee Nowicki) Miodonski and devoted father of Paul Miodonski, Jacquelyn Sorgi and Ken Thrun.
A loving "Papa Moe" to Robin Sorgi, John Sorgi and Anthony Sorgi.
Moe was also survived by great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many loyal friends.
Family will be present on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the PIETSZAK FUNERAL HOME, 2400 William St. (near Harlem) where services will be held on Tuesday at 9:15 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Clare Parish, located at 193 Elk Street, Buffalo, NY, at 10 AM.
Inurnment will take place at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Cheektowaga, New York, at a later date.
