October 11, 1951 – June 6, 2025
Noreen T. Ryan, beloved daughter of the late Thomas F. and the late Julia M. (nee Feeley) Ryan, dear sister of the late Michael Ryan (Christine), devoted aunt of Karen Shaffer (Todd) and Mark Ryan (Suzanne), and loving great-aunt of Kathryn Shaffer and Thomas and Jack Ryan, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025. She is also survived by many dear extended family members and devoted friends.
Noreen was born and raised in Buffalo, New York, where she attended St. Theresa Parochial School, Mount Mercy Academy, and Canisius College. Later, she lived and worked in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where she developed a distinguished profession throughout her various roles in the insurance industry. Noreen retired to Sarasota, Florida, after an illustrious career as Vice President/National Director Construction Und. for Zurich N.A. Throughout all of her travels, Noreen remained a loyal Buffalo Bills fan and shared her passion for her Buffalo heritage.
Noreen was an enthusiastic decorator, landscape designer, and community advocate. She was an avid golfer, voracious reader, and generous volunteer at Sarasota hospitals. Her presence will be deeply missed, yet it is this legacy that lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Lackawanna, New York, on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. Please assemble at the cemetery office.
