Rick Jakubowski had a very simple philosophy on life, "Enjoy it until it's over". He always told his wife, Celeste, when she was upset or mad, "What's the problem? Look at all you have, you have two daughters and a grandson. You need to focus on what you do have, not what you don't". Rick always kept two feet on the ground with the most important things in mind and held everyone to it. He didn't feel like life owed him anything, he was simply along for the ride.

Throughout his life, Rick was always the one to start the party with good company and an ice-cold Yuengling in hand. Although he loved his company, he most enjoyed the simple solitude of sitting in the backyard, chewing on a "swizzle stick" and listening to all of his favorite songs (loudly). He was a man of many hobbies including woodworking, cooking, painting model cars, playing the drums, fishing, aquarium building & crafty, and homemade haircuts for our cocker spaniel dogs.

Rick had a charmingly grumpy yet kind demeanor with a sarcastic sense of humor. You could always count on him to come up with a spot-on clever joke at almost any moment, followed by a roaring laugh. Rick was handy and always available to lend a helping hand to his friends, family, or neighbors. He hated photos and couldn't utter the words "I love you" but you always knew he did in so many other ways. His family was his heart and his home, and he took great pride in being a best friend and grandfather to his grandson Ben. He loved the Caribbean and being the designated driver for all trips to NYC to visit his two daughters over the span of 15 years. He loved the simple life, and he will truly be missed.

Rick passed away at the age of 64, he was a retiree from Chudy Paper in Cheektowaga, NY where he worked in the Warehouse.

A devoted son of the late Florence (nee Rzeszutek) and the late Leonard Jakubowski.

Beloved husband of Celeste (nee Wozniak) Jakubowski.

Devoted father of Heather (Joshua West) Thurman and Kathryn (Ryan Nocella) Jakubowski.

Beloved grumpa of Benjamin Thurman and fur grandpa of Clark and Roosevelt.

Dear brother of the late Deborah Jakubowski.

Special best friends of Bill (Jill) Wojtaszczyk and Skip Hauenstein.

Godfather of Paul John "PJ" Wozniak and Stephanie Bialkowski.

Rick is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to assemble for a Mass of Christian Burial at Queen of Martyrs Church (180 George Urban Blvd. Cheektowaga NY) on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at 10 AM.

Inurnment will take place at St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Cheektowaga, NY.
