September 29, 1927 – March 5, 2016
Robert Przybylak better know as "Presby" passed away at Elderwood Health Care at Cheektowaga, at the age of 88.
Son of the late Antoinette and John Przybylak, Robert graduated from Hutchinson Central High School. He served in the US Navy, a Seaman 1st Class, as an Aviation Metalsmith, from Nov 7, 1945 to October 13, 1947 and was a member of American Legion Francis J Donovan Post 1626, in Cheektowaga, NY. Upon returning from the war, he managed a supply house as a plumber and also worked at General Mills, making Cheerios and Wheaties. His last 43 years before retirement, was spent working as a Beer Truck Driver-Salesman for Try-it Distributors, now located in Lancaster, New York.
Throughout his life Bob spent much of his spare time serving the St. Josaphat Holy Name Society in many capacities and was also a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts there, for about 23 years. He also enjoyed camping, fishing and loved to travel. In his lifetime, he was able to visit every state, except Hawaii.
His beloved wife Rosalie "Rose"(nee Przemielewski) survives him and this May 15, would have marked their 62nd Wedding Anniversary. They met at a fall dance at a Fire Hall and they enjoyed going out together to watch stage performances at the theater. The romantic that he was, one night he made a pit-stop at church, knelt at the altar and proposed. The rest is now history.
A devoted father of Bonnie (late Cliff) Platt, Robert (Susan) Przybylak, Patricia Przybylak, Mark (Shawna) Przybylak, Karen Przybylak, Sharon Przybylak, Dr. John (Dr. Jessica) Przybylak, Pauline (Mark) Brownschidle and Thomas (Summer) Przybylak.
The loving grandfather of Joshua (Megan), Robert, Peter (Mary), Lindsey (Ritch), Jonathan (Crystal), Molly, Daniel, Casey, Martha, Logan, Sydney, Owen, Camryn, Annelise, Quinn & Luke and the late Kyle and great-grandfather of Milan, Janek, Adalia and late Marek.
Bob was the dear brother of John "Jocko" (late Delphine "Be") Przybylak, Geraldine (late Ben) Schutta, Eleanor (late Alfred) Koska, Loretta (late Lucien) Benczkowski and the late Edward (late Genevieve) Przybylak, late Florence (late Louis) Zybczynski, late Alfrieda (late Peter) Conwall and late Mary Ann (late Ted) Pawlowski and also survived by countless nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family will be present on Monday and Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM at the PIETSZAK FUNERAL HOME, 2400 William Street (near Harlem.)
Relatives and friends are invited to assemble for a Mass of Christian Burial at Resurrection Church (130 Como Park Blvd at Union Road) Wednesday at 10 AM.
Interment will follow with Military Honors at St. Matthew's Cemetery, West Seneca, New York.
