Rosann Patricia was born on Tuesday, September 4, 1956, in Syracuse, New York to MaryLou (nee Wells) and George Schmelzer.  She was a steelworker at Vesuvius in Lackawanna, New York.

Rosann was the loving companion of Bob Szywala. A devoted mother of Don Battaglia, Billy (Courtney) Battaglia, and Eric (Morgan) Battaglia.

Dear stepmother of Andrew Szywala and Katie (Jesus Bonilla) Szywala.

Loving grandmother of Arya, EJ, Isla, Jaylee, Jensen, Jaminsen, Jinalyz, and Jedisen.

The dearest sister of Bob (Debbie) Schmelzer, George (Lisa) Schmelzer, and Jamie Schmelzer.

She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services will be held privately at a later date.
