Wardenski
November 7, 1944 – July 22, 2017
Rosemarie E. Wardenski, more endearingly known as "Rosie", passed away peacefully at Buffalo Mercy Hospital, at the age of 72. A proud East Side Businesswomen, for over 40 years, Rosie ran Wardenski's Deli, on Clinton Street, in Buffalo, New York, till it closed in 2010.
Starting the family tradition, her relatives originally opened the location as Biedron's Tea Shop and Soda Bar. The store was then taken over by Rosie's Mother, Caroline Wardenski and she ran it as Wardenski's Confectionaries. In the 1960's, Rosie ran it as Wardenski's Deli. One of the traditions of this neighborhood store was Rosie's elaborate and colorful window displays for holidays and throughout the year.
A former parishioner and graduate of the now closed Holy Apostles SS. Peter & Paul R.C. Church and School, in Buffalo, New York, Rosie participated in several Church groups and function and she particularly enjoyed working at the Sunday Bingo Games, greeting the patrons at the door with her Extra Boards for over 25 years.
She was the devoted daughter of the late Caroline (nee Slomba) and Walter Wardenski and beloved sister of Rev. Robert (Pastor of Immaculate Conception Church, East Aurora, NY), Michael and late Constance Wardenski and also survived by several cousins and friends.
Family will be present on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the PIETSZAK FUNERAL HOME, 806 Clinton Street (near Fillmore Ave) the Buffalo location.
Relatives and friends are invited to assemble for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John XXIII Parish, located on Harlem Rd at Arcade Street, in West Seneca, New York on Wednesday at 10 AM.
Burial will follow at St. Matthew's Cemetery, in West Seneca, New York.
