Born on October 8, 1966, in Buffalo, NY, he was the devoted son of Theresa (nee Jozwiak) (Dennis Kowalski) Batycki. JR was a hardworking and dedicated retiree from the Town of Cheektowaga Highway Department, where he faithfully served as a driver for over 25 years. He was dependable, committed, and took great pride in the work he did for his community. JR also proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1985–1992. He found great enjoyment in following his favorite sports teams. An avid Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres fan, he also proudly cheered on the New York Mets. He enjoyed the excitement of the games and the memories made watching and talking about his favorite teams with family and friends.
JR was a loving husband, devoted family man, and cherished friend whose memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He was the beloved husband of Karen (nee Jablonski), with whom he shared almost 23 years of marriage. Their life together was filled with love, companionship, and countless cherished memories that Karen will hold close to her heart. A devoted son of Theresa (nee Jozwiak) (Dennis Kowalski) Batycki. He was a dear brother of Mark (Linda) Jozwiak and Anthony (Wendy) Batycki, Jr. Dearest brother-in-law of Frank (Mary) Jablonski. Dearest nephew of Matthew (late Nancy) Jozwiak and the late Peter (late Jean) Jaroszewski and fond cousin of Justine (Derek) Schaffner. He was the loving son-in-law of the late Francis and late Theresa Jablonski. JR is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Family will be present Friday, September 18, 2026, from 4–7 PM at the PIETSZAK FUNERAL HOME, 2400 William St., Cheektowaga, NY 14206. Relatives and friends are invited to assemble for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Andrew's Church (Crocker & Reiman Sts.) Saturday, September 19th at 9:30 AM. Military Honors will follow Mass.
Above all, JR will be remembered for the love he shared with his family, and friends. His kindness, dedication, and the memories they created together will remain a lasting part of their lives. His memory will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved him. Please leave a condolence for JR's family and share a memory or kind word in his honor.
