At the age of 92, born Lucille Kaczor in Salamanca, NY to the late Maximilian and Mary (Boza) Kaczor.

Sister Saletinia is survived by her brother, Thomas Kaczor and her sisters, Mary Onisk, Helen Napierala, and Theresa Frye, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, the late Maximilian and Mary (Boza) Kaczor, her brothers, Maximilian and Raymond Kaczor and her sister, Josephine Kaczor.

A wake for Sister Saletinia will be held at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Central Convent on Monday, September 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday, September 26, from 2 to 5 p.m. An Evening Prayer Service will take place on Tuesday,. September 26, at 5 p.m. in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Convent Chapel (Villa Maria). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 27, at 10 a.m., in the Convent Chapel. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Cheektowaga, NY.

Interment will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Cheektowaga, New York.

Sister Mary Saletinia Kaczor, CSSF, Teacher/Principal
Age 92, a Felician Sister for 75 years, died in the Blessed Mary Angela Care Center, Buffalo, NY, on September 24, 2017. The former Lucille Kaczor was born on February 12, 1925 in Salamanca, NY, where she was member of Holy Cross Parish. She entered the Immaculate Heart of Mary Province of the Felician Sisters on July 9, 1942 and professed perpetual vows on August 6, 1950. She graduated from the Immaculate Heart of Mary Academy in Buffalo. She held a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Mount Saint Joseph Teachers College, now Medaille College in Buffalo, NY, and a Master of Science in Education degree from State University of New York College at Buffalo.

Sister Saletinia was a dedicated teacher. One of her first teaching experiences was at St. Stanislaus Kostka Day Care Center in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, where she spent 12 years. Upon her return to the United States, she continued this ministry in Catholic Elementary Schools in the Diocese of Buffalo for 36 years, except for a 2 year stay at St. Catherine of Siena School in Binghamton, NY, in the Diocese of Syracuse, NY. She was a caring teacher who challenged her students to use their fullest potential and to be responsible in studying. At St. Barbara School in Lackawanna, NY, St. Catherine of Siena in Binghamton, NY, and Genesee-Wyoming Consolidated Catholic School in Attica, NY, Sister Saletinia also served as principal.

In 1995, Sister Saletinia assisted at Villa Maria Academy in Buffalo as coordinator and maintenance supervisor. Two years later, in 1997, she began assisting with Food Services in the main kitchen at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Provincial House. She served as a full time assistant in this capacity for 12 years and on a part-time basis for 3 more years. Those who worked with her appreciated her help and enjoyed her pleasant disposition.

In February 2013, Sister Saletinia became involved in prayer ministry and in July, 2015, she became a patient in the Blessed Mary Angela Care Center. On May 28, 2017, she had the privilege of celebrating her 75th anniversary in religious life. One of her greatest joys was having Rev, Robert Wozniak, her former student, concelebrate this Mass and give the homily. During her stay at the care center, Sister Saletinia reached out to others and maintained a positive disposition.
