Obituary
The former Sophie "Zofia" Wnuk, she was the cherished daughter of the late Magdalena and Jan Wnuk.
Zofia passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, at the age of 90. She was the Wife and Love of her husband Leo's life, for 68 years.
Sophie was the devoted mother of Christine (John) Jasinski, Barbara (Joseph) Desiderio, Ann Dewyea, Leona (Jerry) Kozlowski, Linda (Thomas) Mittner, Leo (Suzanne) Pawelek and Andrew Pawelek.
The loving grandmother of 17 and great grandmother to 22 and dearest sister of Helen (late Alfred) Obarka, Stella (late Stanley) Dawidowicz and Mary Graue and the late John Wnuk, Jr., late Anna (late John) Bak, late Wanda (late Stanley) Czapski, late Joseph (late Eleanor) and late Felix (Kathryn) Wnuk, and late Irene (late Richard) Glaze. She was also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Family will be present on Sunday from 2 - 7 PM at the PIETSZAK FUNERAL HOME, 2400 William St. (near Harlem.)
Relatives and friends are invited to assemble for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Josaphat Parish (William at Peoria Ave) Monday at 9:30 AM.
Inurnment will take place at St. Adalbert Cemetery, Lancaster, NY at a future date.
