Of Rochester, New York, at the age of 65, Stephen was a mail handler for the United States Postal Service.

He was the devoted father of Margaret Smardz and was predeceased by parents, Rose and Frank Smardz.

The dearest brother of Charles Smardz, Paul (Wendy) Smardz, Frances Smardz and the late Margaret Smardz and late Robert Smardz.

Stephen was a loving uncle of Christopher Smardz, Todd Smardz and Nicole (Mark) Rapone and dear friend of Debora Smardz.

Family will be present on Friday evening from 6-8 PM at the Pietszak Funeral Home, 2400 William St. (near Harlem) in Cheektowaga, NY.

Relatives and friends are invited to assemble, on Saturday Morning at 11 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Clare Parish, located at 193 Elk Street (near Smith Street), in Buffalo, New York 14210.

Inurnment will be held privately at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, in Cheektowaga, New York.
