Obituary

On December 28, 2020, God has summoned this woman whose beautiful voice brought to life hundreds of songs but also spoke up to protect children & the down-trodden.... The 6th of 9 children, Sylvia Przemielewski, MSW, PhD(ABD), a retired Social Worker at Transitional Services, Inc., in Buffalo, New York, passed away at the age of 77.

A compassionate, ambitious, and lifelong learner, Sylvia, held several degrees from the State University of New York at Buffalo, as well as a Masters in Social Work and a Ph.D. (ABD), where she worked as a graduate assistant and was instructing classes. Besides working at Transitional Services, Inc., she also worked for Child and Family Services. When just out of high school, Sylvia worked as a secretary for McKesson-Robbins, as well as selling for Continental Realty. During the summers she may be remembered by some from working in the playgrounds for the Town of Cheektowaga where she enjoyed playing Tennis and Softball. Most recently she was working security at National Fuel.

Sylvia was a self-taught musician, playing the ukulele, banjo, 6 & 12 string guitar, zither, mandolin and loved to perform in several Western New York Nursing Homes and several other public venues. She even organized a family "Jug Band" that performed with her for many years. She was also very involved as a Leader with the Girl Scouts of America movement with her sister Rose.

She was the cherished daughter of the late Veronica (nee Bogdanowicz) Przemielewski and the late John Przemielewski.

A beloved sister of Joseph (late Justine) Przemielewski, Marie (Rudolf) Cegielski, Veronica (Robert) Watts, Frances (Joseph) Proeto, Michael Przemielewski, Margaret (late Timothy) Topor, the late Rose (late Robert) Przybylak, and the late John (Lynn) Przemielewski.

Sylvia, was also the treasured aunt to countless nieces, nephews, and also survived by many cousins.

Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, her services will be held privately by the family.
