Timothy Friedly, of West Seneca, passed away surrounded by his family. Tim was a man of incredible strength and courage. After bravely battling cancer in 2018, he faced many health challenges in the years that followed, he continued to face life with the same determination and resilience that defined him.

Born on June 10, 1964, he was the beloved son of Beverly (nee Benson) Friedly and the late Philip Friedly. He grew up alongside his siblings, Michael, Stacey, and Kelli in Cheektowaga. Tim was a graduate of Maryvale High School, Class of 1982, where he met his wife, Allison. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Technology from Buffalo State College in 1986.

He began his career at Hebeler Welding as a layout technician. Over the following years, his career advanced and he opened his own welding and fabrication shop, where he operated his business from 2000 until 2014. Some of the projects that he worked on included the rehabilitation of the Erie Canal, the Grand Island Bridges, and eventually built pump jacks for oil wells. After closing his business, he worked as a project manager at other local business in the industry. In August 2025, Tim started working at Canam Bridges, where he worked as a Subcontractor Project Manager.

On May 23, 1987, Tim married the love of his life and his best friend, Allison (nee Waz) Friedly. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised two children, Ashley (William) Paddock and Andrew (Dominique) Friedly. His greatest joy came when he began his role as Grandfather to Benjamin Paddock, Alexis Paddock, and Theodore Friedly.

Family was at the center of Tim's life. He enjoyed family walks, vacations, and countless adventures together, including trips to Treasure Island, Florida, Disneyland, and Disney World. But his favorite was the family trip to California, a special memory that he treasured.

Tim was also deeply involved in the lives of his children. When Andrew was in Cub Scouts, Tim proudly served as a Cub Scout leader. As his children grew, the family enjoyed many ski trips to the Buffalo Ski Club, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

Tim treasured every moment spent with his grandchildren. He loved their sleepovers, going to car shows, and the simple moments of sitting together on his recliner watching television. He especially loved Sunday morning dates at Panera with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He would let the grandchildren pick out a special treat and have a "meeting" with them to discuss how their week was. He especially loved dancing with Alexis in the windows of Panera, watching their reflections as they danced together.

A man of many interests, Tim enjoyed reading about local history and loved researching his ancestry. He took great pride in discovering his family's roots and learning about the people and stories that came before him. He enjoyed listening to music, especially Van Morrison's Days Like This, and could often be found playing solitaire on his tablet. A lifelong Buffalo sports fan, he proudly cheered on his favorite local teams.

Those who knew Tim will remember him for his enormous heart, kind soul, and gentle spirit. He was, quite simply, one of the nicest people you could ever meet. He loved to joke around and was always ready with a prank, bringing laughter and joy to those around him. His warmth, humor, generosity, and genuine goodness touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Beloved husband of 39 years to Allison (nee Waz) Friedly. Devoted father of Ashley (William) Paddock and Andrew (Dominique) Friedly. Loving grandfather of Benjamin Paddock, Alexis Paddock and Theodore Friedly. Dearest son of Beverly (nee Benson) and the late Philip Friedly. Dear son-in-law of Agnes and late Alfred Waz. Dearest brother of Michael Friedly, Stacey Friedly and Kelli Friedly. Fond uncle of Taylor Friedly, Harrison Friedly and the late Trevor Friedly.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather for a Celebration of Timothy's Life at the Pietszak Funeral Home, 2400 William Street, Cheektowaga, NY 14206, on Saturday, August 8th, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, where a Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 AM.

Tim leaves behind a legacy of love that will live on through his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, extended family, and the many friends whose lives he touched. Though he will be deeply missed, the memories of his laughter, his kindness, his playful spirit, and the love he gave so freely will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
