Vincent C. Serafini, a dedicated Operating Engineer for Local 17 in Buffalo, NY, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026. Born on July 16, 1927, in Buffalo, NY, Vincent's life was marked by a steadfast commitment to his profession and a deep devotion to his family.
Vincent’s career as an Operating Engineer spanned many years, during which he contributed significantly to the growth and development of Buffalo's infrastructure. His expertise and work ethic earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and peers alike. Beyond his professional achievements, Vincent was known for his strong character, integrity, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life.
Vincent was the former husband of the late Jean (nee Poppenberg). He is survived by his cherished children, Vincent J. (Betty Ann “Babs”) Serafini, Debbie (Paul) Wolcott and Dale Serafini. Vincent was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Jeannie Serafini. Vincent's legacy continues through his loving grandchildren, Joel Serafini; Anitra (Al) Zack, Adam (Danielle) Wolcott, Jeremy (Nicole) Wolcott, Heather (Andrew) Sipf, Stephanie (John) Cellino, Katherine Van Remmen and Jenna Van Remmen. He took great joy in his role as a fond great-grandfather to thirteen great-grandchildren.
He is also remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews, and cousins who survive him.
