Walter Poliszczuk, 72, passed away January 27, 2026. Born in Munich, Germany, he came to the U.S. with his parents at a very young age.
Devoted son of the late Peter and Anna Poliszczuk, loving brother to the late Roman (Leslie) Poliszczuk and dear uncle to Katlyn (Jonathon) Poliszczuk-Hodgins.
Nephew of the late Michael (Julia) Blendonohy, cousin to Peter (Mary Ann) Blendonohy and Zirka (Bob) Hynes.
Walter experienced local college life (achieved an Associate Degree), owned a neighborhood grocery store and for a number of years, worked for a well known book distributor which was appropriate given his love of reading.
He was a very religious person. He helped and was a care giver to his parents later in life. He liked watching old TV comedy series like Car 54. He enjoyed the outdoors. He had a good sense of humor and every once in a while, it would come out in a conversation when one would least expect it. He will be missed by those that truly knew him.
A private service and burial was held January 30th. The family thanks Father Marijan for both the beautiful service and his support during this difficult time.
The memory of Walter will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege to know him. His unwavering love for those close to him, paired with his gentle nature, will be fondly remembered. We invite you to honor his memory by sharing a picture or a favorite story in our online Guest Book on the Tribute page. Through these shared memories, Walter's enduring spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us all.
