April 14, 1941 – January 11, 2020
A former Welder at Worthington Pump in Buffalo, New York, Wieslaw J. Bielak, passed away peacefully from Pancreatic Cancer at Buffalo General Hospital, in Buffalo, New York, at the age of 78. Also, known as "Freddie" to some and "Red" to others, he also worked for a period of time at Scott Casting, Inc. in Buffalo, NY, and excelled in Gas Metal, Gas Tungsten, and Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Blueprint Reading, and core making. While working at Worthington he also served as a Union Steward and achieved a leadman position. He was known for being dependable, hardworking, punctual, courteous, and able to learn new operations when given the opportunity.
Born in Warsaw, Poland on August 14, 1941, to the late Stanislawa (nee Kwasiborska) and late Feliks Bielak.
He was the beloved husband of Zofia (nee Lukaszczyk) Bielak and the late Barbara (nee Malina) Bielak and devoted father of James Bielak and Christine (Troy) Dengel and Step-father of Mirek and Agnieszka.
The loving Grandfather of Rebecca and many step-grandchildren, in Poland.
A dearest brother of Helen (late Walter) Szwajda. Fred is also survived by many nieces, nephews and family in the United States and Poland.
The family will be present on Monday from 6-9 PM and Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the PIETSZAK FUNERAL HOME, 2400 William St. (near Harlem) where services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:15 AM and at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, located at 2158 Clinton Street, Cheektowaga, at 11 AM.
Burial will follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Cheektowaga, New York.
