William "Bill" Appleby, at the age 93, peacefully passed away on November 21, 2016, in Fort Worth Texas.

Bill was born on January 22,1923, in West Hartlepool England, to Elizabeth and Charles Appleby.

He migrated to the United States with his parents in 1927. He enlisted in the Canadian Army during WWII, participated in the European Theater from May 1942 to October 1945. After the war he returned to the United States, becoming a Naturalized U. S. Citizen on August 7, 1951. He worked at the Buffalo Ford Motor Plant until he retired in 1985.

Preceded in the death by son, William and survived by his children: Barbara (James) Poythress, James (Jennifer), John, Deborah and Anne, his four grandchildren: Sean (Diana), Jordan, Brett (Kristen), Kyle (Tom) Robinson, and one great grandchild, Jaxson Appleby.

A family service will be held at Pietszak Funeral Home, 2400 William St. Cheektowaga, New York 14206, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on December 6, 2016.

His burial will immediately follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 800 Pine Ridge Heritage Blvd., Cheektowaga, New York.
